Have you ever found yourself at the crossroads of your career and life, feeling a bit lost or confused? I know I have.
Recently, I stumbled upon a powerful moment in the One Insight Podcast, where the coach guided the client to draw on her mission and that unravelled a profound realisation. This got me thinking—do individuals in the midst of their crossroads crave a sense of purpose?

The power of a mission amidst confusion: As I delved into the podcast, I recognised that confusion is a universal experience, regardless of one’s achievements. The human ego often disguises our greatness, but as Brené Brown beautifully put it, courage and vulnerability is the path to self-discovery.

Drawing my own mission: Reflecting on my own journey, I acknowledged the significance of developing a mission. It goes beyond the self, making you part of something larger. For me, this awakening involved self-reflection, accepting bold decisions, and embracing the unknown while living on the camper.

The three pillars of mission crafting:
1. Significance: Appreciating the importance of defining and constructing a mission.
2. Self-Reflection: Acknowledging personal strengths, limitations and choices.
3. Exploration: Understanding that each moment is a step in crafting my own destiny.

The journey through knowledge: Engaging with audiobooks became a cornerstone of the drawing process. Insights from Stephen Covey, Victor Frankl, James Clear, Eckhard Tolle, Carol Dweck, and Brene Brown enriched my admiration for those with a mission and a message.

Identify themes and values: Exploring word associations related to my interests helped me identify key themes, paving the way to tweak my mission.

In summary; the steps to crafting your mission:
Recognise significance,
Self-reflect,
Explore,
Engage with knowledge,
Identify themes.

Refinement and feedback: After crafting your mission, seek feedback from trusted sources. Align your actions with your mission, regularly assess, and be ready to revise as life evolves.

A living document: Highlight the dynamic nature of a personal mission. Regularly review and update it as life unfolds, ensuring it remains relevant and inspiring.

Currently, I am reassessing my mission while actively enhancing my leadership skills. It has been a fulfilling journey to support others in uncovering their leadership strengths and emotional intelligence capabilities. Witnessing the positive ripple effects in clients’ lives and the impact they create in their communities is truly rewarding.

In conclusion, a personal mission statement is a powerful tool to make purposeful choices and navigate life. It inspires and motivates, breaking barriers to reach your full potential. Crafting your mission is not just a one-time activity—it’s a continuous journey of self-discovery and growth.
